More Joy. More Community. More Kindness. Moretown.

Moretown Elementary School is a vibrant, small-town public school nestled in Vermont’s scenic Mad River Valley. Serving students from pre-kindergarten through sixth grade, our school is built on a foundation of community, curiosity, and a deep connection to the natural world.

We offer a rich and engaging curriculum that supports the whole child. Our academic programs emphasize literacy, math, science, and the arts, blending traditional classroom learning with hands-on, project-based experiences. A standout feature of our school is our robust ECO (Educating Children Outdoors) program, which brings students into the surrounding forests and fields to learn through exploration, environmental stewardship, and play.

With class sizes ranging from 16 to 21 students in grades K–6, our learners benefit from personalized attention, strong peer relationships, and a supportive learning environment. Our dedicated staff are not only highly qualified—they are also deeply committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and inspiring space where every child feels seen, supported, and celebrated.

At the heart of all we do are our community values: More Joy, More Community, More Kindness, Moretown. These words guide our daily interactions, our learning experiences, and the way we care for one another. At Moretown Elementary, we believe that when students feel joy, practice kindness, and are deeply rooted in their community, they are empowered to grow, thrive, and make a difference in the world.
