More Joy. More Community. More Kindness. Moretown.

The Moretown Elementary School is a wonderful place for children to learn and grow! We challenge our students to grow mentally, physically and emotionally in an environment filled with joy, compassion, and laughter.

MES educates around 160 students from preschool through sixth grade and is nested in the historic village of Moretown, Vermont, surrounded by mountains, open fields and the picturesque Mad River.  Our average class size is currently 17 students, school colors are maroon and white and our mascot is the bobcat. Our school values of joy, community and kindness speak to our school community as well as the larger community of Moretown.  Our students continue to be hailed as some of the nicest kids around!

Our school is strongly connected to the community and enjoys tremendous support from families and community members.  At MES we strive to help each student realize their many gifts as we develop a community of support and learning opportunities that challenge and stretch each learner.  MES offers a robust ECO (Educating Children Outdoors) program in partnership with North Branch Nature Center and Friends of ECO at Moretown School.  In the winter months our PTO sponsors the Winter Sports Program where all MES students in grades 1-6 travel to Sugarbush each week to develop skills in either skiing or snowboarding.

Moretown Elementary School is part of the Harwood Unified Union School District (HUUSD), containing five elementary schools, two middle schools and one high school.
