Hello Prospective Moretown School Family…

If you’re looking for a joyful, kind, reflective, ever-growing community of learners for your preschooler to grade 6 child, we invite you to consider Moretown Elementary School.  MES fosters growth, kindness, community and a sense of belonging.

Our school is nestled in the hills of the Mad River Valley, 15 minutes from the Sugarbush Ski Resort, 15  minutes from  Montpelier, the state capital, and 45 minutes to the shores of Lake Champlain and Burlington, Vermont’s largest city, home to the University of Vermont.

Our school is a safe and welcoming learning environment where differences are valued and celebrated.  Our school is a reflection of our local community; building strong relationships and resiliency through collaboration and cooperation, with respect for all.

We are very proud of  our accomplishments as a school community and welcome new families as opportunities for building new relationships, growth and learning.

Check out our school website at https://moretownschool.org and our school blog at https://moretownschoolblog.blogspot.com for the numerous learning opportunities we provide for our students.

Moretown School offers a unique outdoor learning experience for all of our students preschool through grade 6. MES is fortunate to have many acres in the school backyard to provide a program called Educating Children Outdoors (fondly known as ECO) .  ECO allows our  students and teachers to explore their learning outside of the classroom at least a half a day each week.

In the winter months, our students in grades 1 through 6 enjoy a half day of downhill skiing at Sugarbush each week.  Our preschoolers and kindergarteners enjoy snowshoeing and cross-country skiing each week on our school and town-owned fields and forests.

Moretown School is like a family and we all support each other through the easy times and the challenging times.  We strive to help each person become their best selves with love, support and clear expectations.

To begin your introduction to our school, please contact Brenda Hartshorn, our administrative assistant at (802)496-3742 or email her at [email protected].   She can also answer questions you may have about the registration process.
