We have a fantastic music program here at Moretown School!
Mr. Hill is here in Tuesdays to teacher music classes for grades preK through 6. Jeremy Hill teaches music in the Mad River Valley Elementary Schools and is also one of central VT’s busiest musicians. He is a rhythm section regular for many VT groups including those led by Ray Vega, James Harvey, Alex Stewart, Bruce Sklar, Gabe Jarrett, Marty Fogel, Jake Whitesell, Shane Hardiman, Dan Ryan, Dan Silverman, and the VJT. Most recently, Jeremy has had the opportunity to share the stage with seven-time Grammy winner Arturo O’Farrill, his son Adam O’Farrill, and Blues Hall of Famer Joe Louis Walker. Jeremy also plays with VT’s contemporary chamber music ensemble, TURN Music. He “cut his teeth” during the ‘90’s in the NH seacoast area as one of the founding members of the rock band Percy Hill, and through his time at UNH where he played steadily with the Seacoast Big Band, and the Portland Symphony Pops Orchestra. During this time, he was fortunate to have many opportunities to work directly with some of the planet’s finest musicians including Clark Terry, Jimmy Heath, “Slide” Hampton, Kenny Werner, Hal Galper, Fred Haas, and many more. Doing justice to the Black American Music commonly referred to as “Jazz” is Jeremy’s main performing goal, but he also has extensive experience with orchestral, chamber music, musical theater, rock, funk, and the blues.
