Bobcat Bulletin v. 27

March 8, 2024

Our students showed up on Wednesday excited to be back with their friends and teachers.  Teachers are prepared for some rich learning experiences this month as we know that March is a

It's fair to say that Mud Season is here.  Whether or not it's our "false spring" or the actual turning of the seasons is debatable, but we know for sure that the bulk of winter is behind us.  Moving forward, please make sure that your students are still situated for the weather with weather-appropriate pants and jacket (snow/rain depending on the elements), hat, gloves/mittens and always a good pair of boots to keep mud and moisture out.

On Tuesday, March 12th we continue our Winter Ski Program and will travel to Sugarbush for an afternoon of skiing and snowboarding.  Please make sure to update Pick up Patrol by 9:15am if your student is planning to stay at the mountain.  We only have two more days at Sugarbush: March 12th and 19th.

Information was sent out this morning with instructions for how to sign up for a spring conference.  We welcome and encourage all families to sign up for a conference.  The window to sign up will run through the weekend so please don't delay.

Over the vacation we fully restored our building to pre-flood status.  I am happy to share that we have new floors in our major hallways, classrooms are entirely outfitted and baseboards are all secured.  It is nice for our building to, yet again, represent the pride we have in our school.  Again, many thanks to Greg Wagner and Lindsey Nunn for helping to ensure that our building was ready for students to return.

I'd like to thank everyone who got out to vote on Town Meeting Day.  I have always believed that it doesn't matter to me which way you vote, it only matters that you do.  Our district admin team is working closely with the School Board to prepare another budget for vote.  While there are factors out of our control that are negatively impacting tax rates this year, we are hopeful that we can find a happy middle ground for our students and teachers.  I welcome any of you to call or email me if there are pieces that are still unclear as we proceed through this process; we are all learning together.

We would like to give a warm Moretown welcome and 'thank you' to our newest School Board Representative, Steve Rosenberg.  Steve comes to our board with knowledge of educational systems and processes.  He is the grandparent of a Moretown student and vested in making our school the best it can be, while still keeping in tune with the needs of the greater community.  Welcome, Steve!

We wish you all a nice weekend and look forward to welcoming our students back on Monday morning.

Ms. Kate

Calendar Days Fundraiser for the Moretown PTO

Hi families,

This is our last big fundraiser for the MES PTO this year.

Students are coming home with flyers and the challenge to sell a minimum of 10 tickets each.

We have some fantastic prices, equaling over $3,500 in winnings. All sales are virtual through the QR code, which makes sharing the info. with family and friends easy! When you sell a ticket, make sure your child's name is entered into the Salesperson field so they can get added into their class's total sales. The class to sell the most tickets wins a Pizza Party!

Thank you for your continued support of MES and the PTO!
