Bobcat Bulletin vol. 3

I think it's safe to say that our staff and students all had a great first week back.  I would like to thank our parents and caregivers for getting kids to school on time and equipped with everything they need for a successful day at school.  I also want to thank our teachers for making their classrooms bright, warm and welcoming for our learners.  We are well on our way to having a great school year.

This week's bulletin is packed with important information for the weeks ahead.  We have received many requests to share community offerings with our families so please scroll down to hear about a variety of opportunities available to our students.

I hope that you all enjoy a nice long holiday weekend and take advantage of the beautiful weather.  I look forward to welcoming all of our students back on Tuesday, September 5th for another great week at school.

Ms. Kate

School Related Notes

After School FUNd

The Mad River Valley Interfaith Council has generously decided to offer an After School Enrichment FUNd to help parents of children attending the four Valley elementary schools cover the cost of after school activities.  After school programs provide children with important opportunities to be active and engaged during out-of-school hours.  Whether sports, arts, music, science, or another type of non-daycare after school program, the MRVIC would like to ensure that any child who would like to participate can.  (Note: The MRV Community Fund currently assists families who need help covering the costs of after school daycare.)

If your family would like to access the FUNd, please reach out directly to the school administration or school counselor.  Due to the fund's limited scope, the school will need to directly nominate families to the organization.  The FUNd will pay the program directly.

Morefest

Morefest is scheduled for Saturday, September 9th and our PTO is asking for donations of 16 oz red Solo Cups.  Please consider grabbing a pack or two on your weekend shopping trip and drop them off with Brenda in the main office.

School Photos

Again this year, Moretown will be partnering with Ember Photography for our school photos.  Information will be sent home with students next week for how to sign up.  Mark your calendars now for Thursday, September 28th for our school photo day (Maples PK photo day will be on Wednesday, September 27th).

Early Dismissal: How to Submit

Please use Pick Up Patrol (PUP) to let the school know if you will be picking up your child early on any given school day.  Note that an early dismissal is any time BEFORE 2:10.  After 2:10 we will be beginning our dismissal plan.  Thank you!
